Intro Unit 1 All that I Am: A search for Self. Discussion of the big questions - Who Am I? What is my purpose? Followed by a reading and discussing of Fulghum's poem " All I Ever Needed to Know I Learned in Kindergarten". Silent reading finished off the class.

Reviewed what components might be included in this survey course. We will be starting with Foods Module 10 Canada's Food Guide and Beyond. Assignment after we discussed the Food Guide is to do a food journal for 7 days documenting what and how much we eat.

Welcome Back Everyone!
I hope you are also excited for this year to get underway. I know I am.
PAA8
Handed out the course outline and duo tangs with all the recipes we are going to tackle this year. Our food focus will be on fruits and vegetables. Yummm! We watched a video on kitchen and food safety and how to cut safely with a knife. We will put this into practice in our lab on Thursday where we will be making fruit pizza. So everyone needs to write the recipe out in their cookbook, find an apron, and be ready to cook.

We reviewed the course outline and then broke the ice with an ice breaker. Following that the students were asked to write about something they did this summer and hand it in.

Reviewed the course outline, gave some art room rules and settled down to work on project #1 - a quilt rectangle with their name on it. We will use the next class to complete this for display in the school.
