Review the artist Gustav Klimpt, famous for his paintings of "The Tree of Life" and "The Kiss".  Started an artwork in his style using a magazine photo or paint your own version of the tree of life. We will have today's class and one more day.

After studying the work of Canadian artist Ted Harrison create a work in a similar style using bright colour, simplified images, and bold strokes.
CE 30
We are viewing "Les Miserables" under the topic of love.  Collect data for an in class essay on the topic of the portrayal of love in the musical.
Psychology 30
We started the unit on adolescence viewing two videos.  The first is about the progression of knowledge as we grow and the second is a crash course in adolescence.

Today we wrote the Daniel's Story Quiz for Chapter 1-4. Did vocabulary for Chapter 5.

Wrote test for Early Childhood Development. Had a fire drill interruption.
Art 7
Had a look at some pebble art.  Went outside to gather some choice pebbles for two projects: 1. create a scene with pebbles and glue them on to cardboard, 2. paint the rocks in some creative manner
Senior Art
Introductory powerpoint on Pop Art and Printmaking.  Brainstorm images of today's popular culture to come up with a modern version of a pop art print. Transfer to a lino tile for printing.

Read from the duo tang A Mountain Legend and answer the following questions:

1. Why is Jason anxious to prove himself?  Why are young people anxious to prove themselves?

2. What did Jason learn?

3. What role did the eagle play in Jason's quest?

4. Why do N.A. Indigenous cultures place high value on vision quests?

Read Odin's Three Quests from the duo tang and briefly explain each quest - what he got and how he got it.

Finished up the chapter one review questions pages 19,24,and 26 along with the blue handout on interdependence.  Hand in when completed.  Test for Unit 1 is on March 9.

Continue working on the slab boxes that were started last class.

Today we start a study in Pourquoi Tales. Listen to the story of how the camel got his hump followed  by giving the class a sentence starter so they can write their own short pourquoi tale.

Review info from yesterday on the design process.  Continue with notes and examples and then an assignment to take home.

Today we studies Value and Form and filled in examples on our handout.
Art 9
Finished the geometrical star and filled in the spaces with the Elements of Art.  In the second class we listened to a song called "Rehab" on the topic of social injustice and graffiti. Discussion followed and then we practiced different styles of alphabet letters.
CE 30
A Tornado Drill started the class and we quickly went down to the basement to the safe zone.  Continued notes on religious tradition and the elements of religion.
PAA 30
Everyone was very excited to start cutting strips for their quilts.  Bring on the muscle, girls!
